Qaggiavuut Attends Arctic Arts Summit 2026 in Umeå

Qaggiavuut attended the Arctic Arts Summit 2026 in Ubmeje/Umeå, Sweden, from June 16–18.

The international gathering brought together artists, Indigenous representatives, cultural organizations, researchers, and decision-makers from across the circumpolar North. The 2026 Summit was organized around the theme “Land, Power, Art.”

Qaggiavuut attended to build relationships with Arctic and Indigenous arts organizations, learn from other cultural initiatives, and explore future opportunities for Inuit artists, programming, and international collaboration.

The Summit provided an important opportunity to share Qaggiavuut’s work and connect Nunavut’s performing arts community with broader circumpolar conversations about culture, artists, and Indigenous-led arts spaces.
