Qaggiq 2026 Brings Artists Together

Qaggiq 2026 took place from March 27–29, 2026 in Iqaluit, bringing together Inuit artists, Elders, youth, families, and community members.

The event included one large Qaggiq and two smaller igloos, creating a shared space to gather, learn, perform, and connect.

Programming included throat singing, drum dancing, theatre, storytelling, children’s workshops, Inuit games and wrestling, snow sculpture, traditional clothing, music, a craft fair, tea, bannock, and country food.

Artists came from across Inuit Nunangat, including Pond Inlet, Inuvik, Cambridge Bay, Arviat, Nunavik, and Iqaluit.

Despite very cold weather, the gathering welcomed approximately 100–300 people per day.
